Malaysian PM extends condolences on Ayat. Rafsanjani demise


Asiawe- Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in a message extended his condolences on demise of the late Chaiman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani who passed away on Jan 8.

In his message addressed to President Hassan Rouhani, Razak voiced deep grief on the sad occasion.

He referred to Ayatollah Rafsanjani as the symbol of ‘courage and innovation’ who sacrificed his life for the security and welfare of his fellow countrymen.

In his letter, he emphasized the fact that Iran and Malaysia have been old friends for long, reiterating that the relations between the two countries have been reinforced during different periods such as when the late Ayatollah was the president of Iran.

Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman also in a message condoled his counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sad incident.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani died on January 8 (Sunday) at the age of 82 due to a heart attack in a Tehran hospital.

The late ayatollah’s demise stood at the top of world news with messages of condolences by world leaders and international figures pouring into the country.
